Another GNZ Project

Read and report on flightsim developers progress of upcoming or completed products

...Moving on:
The RNZAF is in its 70th Anniversary year.
While things looked a little bleak for a while without the fast jets, morale is still very good.
In fact, down at Ohakea, things have not been standing still!

And, in the flightsim world, we are not constrained by silly things like politics or money, B-) just time.
So we'll mess with the clock a bit maybe, too.
And some...possibilties.

Lookin good Charl.

Now I know why you needed that 3 Sqdn info  The guys are currently over in East Timor.

I have aerial photos of Ohakea if they are of any use to you.

I'm currently "trying" to do an RNZAF repaint of Kazunori Ito's freeware Skyhawk so this is well timed.

Look forward to seeing the finished product.
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

Not taking any lime light of the ai project (this forum subject)
yeah timmo im trying to work out the way to get these helos to fly and are put little bits on it daily but there is alot to learn making fly able AC in fs so thats something im slowly picking up ,the models are no problem making its the keyframing and naming of parts that is stopping me at the moment ,im very keen on the nh90 / sh2/westland wasp ,as my first built projects,id say we will get the real ones before mine every get of the ground ...

Ah, so thats the top secret military project I was testing for you Charl ;)

If it is anywhere as near as good as the GNZLAP was, it is something to get exicted about!

Yes indeed, and it is at last making some headway, after a total brick wall block.
After some fiddling and tweaking...

...and cajoling, got them over target within reasonable safety limits.

To my knowledge this may the first time an AI 4-ship has done what it's told, and certainly the first 4x4 cross. >nzflag<

Brilliant Charl :) What aircraft are going to be included, and is this package going to be structured around a certain time period? (e.g. from 1937-2007, 90s, etc...)

So can you get certain Ai to show when the fs date and time is set to a certian time period?

Like other scenery, I recall things from fs98, like the birlin wall being there then move the clock forward and its not!

Thatd be one awsome ai thing, flying around a country with all this old stuff, then move the clock forward, sudenly all modern mmm thatd take alot of work :P very neat thow.

Keep up the good work guys

Thanks for the offer of pics Hamish, but they are already accurately painted... right down to each individual aircraft having the correct serial number assigned :)

There are a couple of pics of RNZAF personnel wandering along the lines of Pakistan F-16s in the desert, plus a pic of one of the ones (the only one?) that actually got partway through the process of being 'reactivated'. These pics plus reference to existing Pakistan AF F-16s, as our ones carried the standard scheme, were what was used.

Paint is looking real good.

Just some more info - the spear on the tail is that used by 2 Squadron which was the fighter training sqn when we had A4's. They had the 2 seaters and a couple of singles for training.
2 Squadron Emblem

75 Sqn was the main Fighter Squadron which used the A4, their emblem being the Tiki like figure with a club and axe crossed behind.
75 Squadron Emblem

6500 series numbers would be correct, as that follows on from the Macchis (6400's) not sure where the last digits normally start or the rules governing those.

Thanks Deane - we've got the squadron identities sorted. Appreciate the info though.

As far as serials go I have painted them up with the actual serials the RNZAF assigned at the time.
NZ6521-NZ6534 was assigned to the single seaters and NZ6541-NZ6550 was for the two seaters.

Some of the airframes were to be 'hangar queens', or spares sources and would never have flown, but in the world of FS we don't need spares - so we've put the whole fleet into service :D

Last digits were assigned to avoid duplication - there would have been a transition period where A4s and F-16s were operating together. There was also an historical connection. The last two for the single seaters were based on the last two of the Vampires - the RNZAFs first operational jet fighters.

There are a couple of 'special' aircraft in the F-16 fleet to keep an eye out for when it is released too... ;)

Thanks guys, this is an incredibly Top Secret Project, and strictly on a need-to-know basis.
So we'll just make it up as we go along...
