Hi as I am new to the flight sim world,I was just wondering if I my mesh settings should be on a high or low number for the best results.

It depends entirely on your definition of 'best results'

If your defintion of best results is render quality, and if your computer can handle it, turn it up to the value of your best addon grid (default in NZ is around the 40m mark, the NZ payware mesh is 20m) for the best visual results

If your definition of 'best results' is frame rate and if you are struggling with performance then reduce it......

hmmm not really an easy question to answer...do a search on FSX performance for some more tips and tweaks (autogen trees and buildings reduce frame rates quite a bit so try reducing these)

I totally agree with Timmo, your machine will really determine this setting, like all of them.
