Heres some shots of FOs airbase(the sky and trees are placeholders as the engine is still being made.

The whole thing is still a work in progress but its cool to finally see the T38s on the ramp. The base has 100s of buildings you can read more about it here

Do they have a release date for fighter ops? and is fighter ops going to be like flight simulator but a combat version?

Yes FO is a combat simulator, it will simulate basically everything, every button, switch etc of the aircraft, and you can drop bombs and dogfight. Release date was sometime this year but at this stage it seems it might be a bit longer before its released. Check the main webpage for details, 1st release is UPT trainning in T38s and T6II following that is F-16C, F-15C/D/E and A-10.

Yes they have mentioned on their forums doing bombers at some stage.

Fighter ops looks better than FSX looking at those screenshots and should be a really good game

The trees and sky are just placeholders, the actual sim will look better than that I think as it will be dx10. BTW the campaign involves flying to the middle east and refuelling about 10 times but you won't see that for a while after the release as its for the combat aircraft when they are released.
