Grumman............. faster approach speed? what is you approach speed?

75 kts

5 knots really doesnt make that much difference really... Its people who cant fly a rectagular circuit or people who dont know how to space...

When 3 172's try to cram into a space I made for only one thats when you get a spacing problem :ph43r: and also 5kts can make a difference, if that 744 at the start of this post was going 5kts faster there would have been a big problem.

and thats the speed you cross the fence at? I suppose grummans have to have a higher approach speed to make up for their dismal climb performance....

more like the small stubby wings not generating much lift at slow speeds I would think :)

As a friend of mine said: Approach speed is 75kts... no faster... no slower...

The Grumman can approach at 70 - 75kts and the climb performance is NOT dismal.

a 172 can range from 50kts, to 80 kts...... or you can also pull off a highspeed approach which is in the yellow arc untill 200' above the runway (generally done when working ATO's)
