After picking up my teeth from the floor after we 'flew' over the railway tracks, climb out was smooth..

High cloud was a bit choppy as we climbed to our cruising altitude and then overflew Napier..

Nice and low over these ranges, they looked amazing, then we hit a heap of updrafts and got banged around for awhile...

Rough southern coastline before we turned right to begin our approach...

Finals and short finals (Note the position of the ATR in both photos, its the same aircraft, I'm pleased he decided to move, I didn't fancy my third go around in a week)

The last set will be of the 1900D's flight deck during the flight.

Great photos, I love how the B1900 doesn't have cockpit doors.

Its a great part of the country, hot and dry most of the time, hence why so many vineyards are around this area.

Some very fine shots Jon - I kept going back to "Gear down and locked..."
Great thought, would make a good video clip, reflected in the spinner, slow zoom as the gear drops.

Funny Jon... I was sitting at the Southern end of Wgtn Airport testing out my new camera and watched the whole ATR going round in circles episode. He sat there far too long and as a consequence was obviously told to get out of the way

Your Beech and then Soundsair arrived before they let him on to the runway again. I imagine there were some interesting exchanges with the controller on duty ;)

Good idea, the challenge is the prop. I had to take about 4 shots to get the blades in the right place, video may be an issue unless you were in 2A fwd of them.
