NZCH Decision

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby scon » Tue Mar 13, 2007 5:29 pm

I am doing a quick enhancement of the default NZCH Airport for FSX, but I am have problems with the jetways I have added (they are the default ones) They are not moving due to limitations with the scenery edditor by Abacus, so the decision I need help with is

Should I keep the jetways but they won't move, or Delete them completely the problem I have with the latter is that with out with out them the terminal looks quite bare.

So what do you think I should do.....

Defualt jetways are quite horrible to be honest , neither can I say I'm particuly fussed weaather it moves towards me or not, seeing as evertime iv tried it doesn't aling its self with the aircraft properly..

Are you able to make static gates but with your own textures and model? Just like with older scenerys. thatd be sweet ;)

I dont see any point in not having fully animated gates.

I would suggest you take some time to look at adding the gates through xml. Perhaps complete your enhanced NZCH as you are, then use the new scenery program at scruffyduck.com to decompile the xml file, then add the gates which should then retain animation, and recompile.

Yeah..........what he said :D ...........I don't know anything about how to do it but those animated gates are cool.........but if you don't have a choice go with static gates......a terminal without gates would look strange.........just wouldn't be NZCH without them :)

I've been interested in the FSX airbridge SDK info, it looks quite fun. If you like, and are happy to do the necessary running around regarding photos and other resources, I'd certainly like to turn this into a tutorial for my site.
That's provided I can get it working:)
