So are the boeing jets getting a little simple? want a challenge...

The freeware developement Project Tupolev team uploaded their latest Tu-154 B2 version 9.4. This Russian commercial airliner is a complete and freeware aircraft package for FS 2004 / 2002. The new version now includes a 3D virtual cockpit

mmm russian :P thankfully the 160page manual is in our language!

Its a bit like a 727, but russian, its got fuctional overhead and enginers panel and all that stuff, originaly for fs2002 and not everythign in the VC is clickabe, so finding the right switch could be a challenge in itself, with many 2d panels

btw I but I get the fealing its not a vfr aircraft, I'm yet to take it for a flight, but when I do it shoudl be most fun :D

Have fun
James :plane:

I believe the procedure is to pour Vodka into the fuel tank and light a cigarette....

it takes minimum of 45mins to get ready to taxi - it needs concentration and time to spare! the latest version of the 154 features 3D gauges - it wasn't a frame rate hog before but now flight is even more smooth - easy to stay on the glideslope. It is a full blown payware quality package all over...but somehow it's free. lovely callouts too.

yes indeedy, on my somewhat unrealistic slew to 5000ft and "lets see if I can land this b***h of an aircraft" I had all these, rather rude sounding, russians yelling my ear:lol: was most unnerving!

Looks very detailed. But was it necessary for tupolev to make the panels that yucky green?

i don't like the green, but i prefer it to boeing diarrhea brown any day!

3D gauges are built into the model, they move at the same speed as your FPS. They are lighter on frames than an XML gauge and can move in tiny amounts resulting in super smooth movement. 3D gauges are in a fair few packages now including..

payware:
- any realair simulations product
- sibwings saab safir
- aeroplane heaven lancaster, mosquito and tiger moth
- IRIS warhawk
- supronov yak40
- flight replicas products
- captain sims latest products
- new samdim products
- must be more...

freeware:
- Robert Bruce's bristol fighter
- rick piper's chipmunk and all upcoming planes
- Dave Garwood's upcoming dragon rapide
- the upcoming BSMP ATP
- this project tupolev...
- Gary Herbert's flying fortress
- Dornier Merkur 1 (i don't know who by)
- Long island classics Christen Eagle II
- Warwick Carter's Komet and P51

i thought i saw a 3D attitude indicator in a WIP shot - or was it just for show? either way the ATP vc is fine looking!

No... those, like the lovely 'hospital green' are meant to help the tech crew keep cool and calm in the face of any (lets face it, almost guaranteed) emergency <_<

http://www.protu-154.com/index_e.html

i had a month of addiction to this sim, i'm over it now as it really was just tooooo time consuming. i prefer samdim's tu-124 (also a much more beautiful aircraft) or the supronov Yak-42 (lovely to fly).

always check the project tupolev forums - especially the screenshots thread - because they always seem to be adding stuff. The one i have has 3D crew that don't just move their heads, but get up and 'push switches' and things, which was fun for a few minutes :D
