Looking for Help With Custom Buildings for NZNS

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby lowellyerex » Fri Mar 02, 2007 9:03 am

Hi,

I have been working on improving the default FSX scenery around the Nelson region, changing landclass, adding Motueka aerodrome, adding the chipmill steam columns etc.
I noticed how inaccurate the taxiways and aprons are at Nelson airport, so next I am going to have a go at redesigning the layout of NZNS.

I thought it'd be nice to put in some more accurate building while working on it (and for Motueka too), but I'm afraid I don't do 3D modelling, and haven't got the time or inclination to learn it. As such, I thought I'd put a note here to see if there are any keen Gmax modellers out there who might like to collaborate, or who may have already made custom buildings for FS9. If so, please reply to this post.

Thanks

Dave (lowellyerex)

Hey David.

I know next to nothing about fs development stuff........but I know who does.....Try Ian Warren (IJW, he flew with us at Daves ridge). He developed a great NZNS for FS9. :)

Hi David
If you need any information on the Nelson Aerodrome, I'm your man B) Learning to fly at the local Aero Club. BTW, the taxiways themselves are not too bad, (all it is is the main taxiway with hold pts A, B, C, D, E, which FSX did correctly. What's wrong is the layout of the various aprons (airline apron, Air Nelson parking, GA parking etc).

Yeah, you're right about the aprons. Also, I see the grass taxiway B texture overlaying the main asphalt taxiway - got to fix that.

Good place to learn to fly eh? I live quite close to the airport myself.

Do you fly? Yeah it's pretty awesome - as the website says, a friendly place to fly.
