Lights in the sky

I saw a meteor last night cross over the city and burn out. AT first I thought it was a firework but then realised no, too bright and high in the sky. I didn't hear a sonic boom, wondered if anyone heard anything about it or maybe saw it? Would have been around 10:30, in the western sky.

Can you be a bit more precise please?

eg Direction of travel north, south, east or west with a compass heading would be good. Roughly how fast eg quick streak or slow but faster than a aircraft crossing the sky?

If it came from the South Western section of the sky did it fade out as it got closer to the North Eastern sky?

Think I know what you saw but this will give me a better source of info to locate.
