The January Almost Medal Of The Month

There is no Medal of the Month for January.
This is because the selection process is particularly undemocratic, and no-one says there must be one every month

But nothing stops a special mention in despatches:
This goes to a fellow who, despite making nearly 600 NZFF posts, still hasn't made it clear that he even has a copy of Flight Simulator on his computer.
Indeed, the last vaguely flightsim related post he made was in September last year!
He virtually owns the Technical and Off Topic Topics.
(By now you may know who I'm talking about)
He has a shed, in which there resides a virtually limitless supply of computers and bits
(Now you really should know who I'm talking about)
He has done things to computers, and talked about them in the Forums, that no rational person would normally do.
He has caused grown men to cry out: "Aaaagh!! Nooo!!"
(At this point you know beyond doubt who this is. Otherwise you have been dwelling Outside the Forums)

So why does Brownbox get a mention in despatches?
Well, you cannot give him a medal for this offbeat behaviour.
But you can admire his Ballsiness.
It is a direct result of his tomfoolery that I whacked a hole in the case of my ancient computing machine, added a $10 fan, and dropped the whole system temperature by 10 degrees.
With accompanying increase in stability and performance.
There are others who have been similarly infected, you know who you are.

So without further ado:
Arise Sir Brownbox, and get thee to the shed!
You have been Mentioned!

Lol, well done brownbox

despite making nearly 600 NZFF posts, still hasn't made it clear that he even has a copy of Flight Simulator on his computer.

I belive he does, as he repainted some aircraft for his own VA 'GT Air' a while back, and he also frequents the monthly screenie comps with some awesome entries :P

wow thanks guys. Now, Im a little slow at realising this whole thread because Im not the type of person to read my PM's (Cheers Trolly for the reminder), nor do I check my emails often to tell me i got a pm, nor do I check all the forums whenever I visit (theres just too much to read in one go). Because of this I somehow missed the whole thing! :o

And yes, I do have a copy of flight sim on my computer(along with hundred of dollars of numerous payware products) , although I often dont have enough time to do flights. This is also why my world tour is sitting with no screenshots. But, some day, I will manage salvage all the usable things out of my shed, make so many holes in my computer case that its barely held together, and I will have a super computer, which can play FS XI on full settings! :P

Thanks again

Cheers
BB
