OK that clears up a bit, one other question I have is, If i was to fly from HN to NE VFR but wished to remain in controlled airspace, but at lower levels..... (say 5500') is it a huge dilemma to get through AA CTA? Ive only ever been in controlled airspace around AA to the point of being handed over from CHCH control to AA (usually just past thames) , I am always told to decend when ready (for ardmore, so never been a problem) And another thing, how does the police chopper Eagle, go for clearances into the CTR, being that a lot of their work will be right in the instrument sector for 23???

getting Controlled vfr is probably not a problem right through to NZNE provided you ask early and nicely. It all depends on wx and traffic levels at the time and you will probably get rerouted a bit along the way.

The police chopper just calls us up at the zone boundary just like any other vfr flight and we do our best to fit them in as we can. :)
