From the National Business Review:

Richard Branson, British transport and entertainment mogul Sir Richard Branson says he has held talks with airports in New Zealand about a potential domestic airline.

Sir Richard, who is in Christchurch today, says while a domestic Pacific Blue service is not imminent, it is a possibility in the future.

He says he is aware there is room for competition in the less travelled domestic routes in New Zealand, which are currently only serviced by Air New Zealand.

Sir Richard Branson is in Christchurch for the third birthday celebrations of budget airline Pacific Blue.
