Multiple Monitors

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Well I just got a new graphics card and I now have the option to run dual monitors.

I was wanting to use the secondary one to display my GPS or the Spot view while I fly in VC on the primary display.

I have used the Nvidia Control panel to set up the displays as Dualview. Is this the correct one to use as opposed to Clone or one of the other options?

The problem is when I go to the View menu in FS9 or right click on the gauge the "undock" option is greyed out so I can't select it to move it to the other display.

After playing around I'm blowed if I can figure it out. I can move the mouse to the other display and can see it fine.

Any suggestions?

I think you have to run FS in Windowed mode. Is it possible you're running full screen?

What sor of card is it? With my mx4000 I just pluged a tv into the S video output then right clicked on desktop to go to the settings tab of "display properties" and that was prety self explanatory (had to big monitors instead of just the one) both set to normal resolutions, in fs I could just click undock and drag them over too the tv.

With my 7600GS I pluged in the tv to s-video, it didnt show up in the display properties settings tab so I used the Nvidia control panel. I think what you want is streched horizontal, with that display properties settings tab just showed one display but with a res of 2048x768, so it was acting like a wide screen. So it must be slightly differant with all cards

Yes you can only undock and move stuff in windowd mode...

Thanks Guys,

I knew it had to be something simple. I was running in Full screen - duh.

It's not a flash card (7100GS) but it's an improvement on the Onboard one that came with the Motherboard. Best of all I got it cheap, I also got a new power supply.

I hate windowed mode, you can do this in fullscreen.
Open the GPS and nudge it a bit over halfway off the main screen.
Close it.
Open again, and it's on the other screen.
Now you can resize, drag, whatever.

Thanks for that Charl.

I must confess to prefering Full screen mode. Now I get two screens and Full mode - life is good.
