Airforce 2 @ NZWN

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby JonARNZ » Tue Jan 16, 2007 3:40 pm

I was going through archived photo albums and came across some pics I thought you might be interested in. I believe it was a delegation of senators over here for talks of some description. We had a chat to a guy who was taking photos from the other side of the fence, it turned out he was the pilot. Wouldn't tell us why they were there or who was on board, got a bit scary when 5 BIG guys in black circled the plane with wires out the ear and bulges under the jacket eyeballing us little kiwi's looking through the fence at them...

I think I have a shot of airfarce1 ariving in NZAA ,it was the CHOGM conference a few years back and the airport was literally one big parking lot - I had the camera at work and I know I have some shots around here somewhere - will have to scan them from photos I think.

going back to Airforce 2 at NZWN,
I think I recall seeing the aircraft there, but I think what I'm thinking off may have actually been a USAF buisness jet in presidential livery. Can't quite remember, all I know is that I could understand why it would be here in Wellington.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

yeah I also had a shot of that gulfstream in the Pres. paint scheme but it turned out too far away to be worth including. and the russian acft was ( I think from memory) a Tupolev?

on another note I hope to get some more photos around the beginning of March as I have just been told I am getting another famil flight on Eagle - the Police1 helicopter.
should be good , usually lasts about half a day dpending on callouts.
