Scenery not showing up

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby Rhys » Fri Dec 08, 2006 12:30 pm

Hi

I have downloaded both icebergv2update and rangainui and placed them in my addon scenery folder, added them and restarted fs9 but they are not showing up.
I have placed the correct afcad file in my scenery folder but I can't get the scenery to appear

Cheers

ok for icebergv2 youll have to remove v1 as they both uses the same textures bmp,
as for the rangainui the afcad goes in the addon scenery folder/scenery and the ranganui & the platforms folder goes in th addon scenery library folder ...theses are 2 different places in addon librarys , the airport id is RNUI so just clear id and enter that one,, but make sure iceberg v1 is removed totally ,
sorry i cant tell you more but i hope this helps you ....mike

Hi Mike

I didn't download the first version of iceberg.
Is there a folder in the addon scenery folder called library folder? I don't seem to have it in my main addon scenery

Cheers

oh ok ,,sorry to confuss you there is not a folder called that ,apart from the addon scenery folder /inside that one you have a scenery folder and texture folder . now i stuck my afcads in the scenery folder of addon scenery library ,then i just put scenery folders like rangaini/icebergs / platforms in just the addon scenery library folder ,so they are in the same place just different folders ...
now all i can say is try doing it all again and see if it works its just like any other addon scenery same way installed but just got to put the afcads in scenery folder in addon library

You may have to turn your object scenery button in settings up to normal .I couldn't see the Club house at NZOX before i did that

:( Still no luck, Placed the scenery into the add-on scenery folder and the afcad files into the scenery folder added the new scenery and re-started flightsim I'm getting the building scenery data window when I start fs9 and all my scenery sliders are set to dense including the add-on scenery slider. Does some have the co-ordinates for the scenery so I can check to see if they are there?

Cheer

Hi All

While I have got the scenery to show up, the afcad files are not showing up in the airport menu. I have placed the afcad files in the senery folder of the main addon scenery folder. Just unsure what I have done wrong

Are you sure? "icebergv2" comes after Woodbourne on my airport list. Have you tried entering NIC2 in the airport ID box?

hhhhmmmm that really does stump me ,i have had problems with afcads before but just moved them around played abit done it over and over and then get it working ,the scenery that i made to me isnt worth the time you have spent trying to work it out if the scenery is there ,you have seen it and can still use it ,im just sorry that the afcads are not showing up for you ,,it is very weird that 2 afcads for to different scenerys arent showing at all thats sounds like setup stuff ,as not pointing finger just a opinion that it falls with your own setup ,as has worked through out beta testing on 3 machines and others that have downloaded it as far as i know ,,the afcad for the rangainui is just so you can find it and the other was a quick fix for putting a landable suface there "iceberg"
im sorry i cant help anymore than i have i dont like leaving problems un sorted but this one im just not sure on ,unless i was putting it in myself there is not much more i can do ....mike

If I could offer an option for you Rhys in regard to the Ranginui.

You may have already tried this.

In the drop down list on the left hand side (where you would normally see the towns) look for "Fiordland National Park" rather than Ranginui. Select FNP then Ranginui (RNUI) should display in your top main box of available airports.

I have had one problem in that when I select Helipad 6 as my start point I actually get placed just off the left side of the boat in the water. But there is a work around for this so it's not a biggie.
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

I remember the 'Ranginui' when she was 'seaworthy' and used to work into Awarua Radio/ZLB.

If that still doesn't work try going to the extreme right of the screen and selecting "Addon Scenery" rather than "Default Airports" or whatever it says.
