Heres a story of a B1 that landed with its wheels up as both pilots were distracted at the time by the aircraft that landed before them.

what's so special about that? i forget to lower the gear in flight sim all the time <_<

seriously tho, could there be a faster way to get kicked off the air force? and with a crew of 4, you'd think someone would notice gear up. what a bunch of numbskulls. that is the exact reason why modern aircraft are fitted with aural warnings.

very old aviation truism
with retractable undercarriage aircraft there are only 2 types of pilots

those that have landed wheels up and those that are yet to do it!

next time you look in the cockpit notice how the flap lever and the gear levers are a different shape and/or feel and have locking mechanisms etc - think about how many accident inquiries led to those changes! <_<
