Hanmer Springs

A forum for everything else that does not fit into the other categories

Hi everyone. I'm going to Hanmer Springs tomorrow afternoon with my dad, my sister and her friend.

We own a house there that we rent out to people, so we're staying in that. So I've been to Hanmer many many times before, and frankly I get bored of it. What exactly is there to do in Hanmer? The pools are only good if you've got a friend (as is Mini-golf). I'll probably take dad's bike around for a bit, but that won't sustain my entertainment for the weekend.

I'll probably go flying down there since I haven't flown for a few weeks, hopefully Hanmer air will take me up for a few circuits of Hanmer International ;) .

So what else can you think of to do in Hanmer? When you think about it there isn't much to do...

Sigh, how things change as you get older. I would LOVE to be dragged off to Hamner Springs for a week to do nothing and have nothing to worry about for that time.

Hope you don't die too much of boredom guys :P

I didn't end up flying, Hanmer air were currently working out of Dunedin (no doubt on whalewatching flights). Didn't really get up to much either - went swimming, watched TV etc.

Maybe icebergs?

Ah well, I for one would like to go to Hanmer for a while, just to see how it is. My grandparents were planning on moving down there for a while...

My mistake man, I meant Icebergs not Whales... anyway you'll probably like it the first time you go there... its the sort of place where you can do everything only once though.

Hamner Strip, Jesus. My classmate and I went there the other week. I was ahead, and hadn't been there before. I arrived and flew overhead for a while looking for the strip, but couldn't find it :(

Then my mate showed up and I followed him in but had to overshoot due to sheep LOL.

You could of gone Bungy jumping, or on the shot over jet, or played mini golf at the place that looked like something out of the Flintstones

Well thats over now, the holiday wasn't too bad...

weeding was good, food was crap, lol

I went to the hot pools twice, that dark hydro slide was awsome! And my uncle took my and my brother jet boating!! So it wasnb't too bad, although the mini golf corse was against me  (only 10 over par hehe)

Still an a boring place thow..... lol Its amazing how good this copmuter seems after such a short time away (ADICT!!!) :D
