Im from the METROPOLIS of Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty. Local airfield is NZWK....flying from there most weekends and on a few 'lunch hours' (I.e. Leave at 11.50 and sneak back into the office at 2 or so

The airfield was built parallel to the coast so there always seems to be a cross wind...youd think id have cross wind landings down by now haha

thats where my house is, it has a nice view of Plimmerton beach out to Mana Island. I rent it out currently and live in the Hutt but I really miss the place and hope to return there soon.

I have family who live around there

They live in a grey/purple coloured house on the Mana Esplanade, near the Dentist.

I see a lot of "Eastern Suburbs" people here from Auckland. Lemme add another. While I live in the US now, when I lived in Auckland, I started out in Dannemora (Belcoo Cres), but shortly moved to Howick (first off Kayeleen Place, then on The Glebe). Also spent a little time in Ellerslie, and an even a short time as a "Westie" in New Lynn (right on the Kelston border).

But for now, I'll have to settle for living in a tropical climate (in the 20's even in winter). Rough life... :rolleyes:
