ABSimulations

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Ian Warren » Sat Nov 18, 2006 10:30 pm

Hi all ,
I thought it worth starting this thread . The model was made by Adrian Brausch, a C130 when it appeared 2000/2 , I think the whole flightsim community got jaw smacked with the detail and so many liveries . Then with photos by Steve Moore and super panel design work by Clive Ryan u get this , from a all kiwi team  albeit Clive is offshore

...and probably quite frame-rate friendly too I imagine?

No prizes for guessing where Ian's sim calendar is pointing, huh?

Edit: I have it! I have it!

I have that model done for FS2002 Ian and I totally agree with all you have to say about it.I think I still prefer the sounds for the C130 That were done by Mike Hambly and edited by Adrian Brausch,They are quite superb.Mind you,Adrian does have access to the C130 details as his father is a squadron leader in the RNZAF and flys the C130 as well as the P3 orions.I think the simshed model comes a close second, particulary the RDAF one which has pitch control for the props.

ABSimulations... they are the company that have made the 'official' RNZAF Orion and Herc right?

I already have the Herc downloaded and it's awesome! I felt like taking up for a flight up to Tonga this weekend to simulate the current peace keeping mission, but didn't have enough time.

I don't have the Orion yet- I have another 70mb freeware version with a NZ scheme, and have been told it is not worth downloaded the AB one... any views on this guys?

Lets hope they keep on producing some RNZAF craft, I would absoulty love to see a decent version of a Red Checkers trainer!

P.S.
Awesome screenie Charl! Was that a multiplayer chute drop, or is that AI?

Hi Gokanru ' Neil ' , Adrian's father from memory is an ex RNZAF Sunderland pilot and yes flew the P3/130 , I should invite and get Adrian to this forum, so much info from around the NZ that could help him and us , but also bring the Air Force Virutal to NZFF . B)
They have a Seaprite instructor frame wiggy guessin this may be his new model , another couple hundred pics won't go amiss :ph43r: .

Hi ya Trolly , ABSim lacks some off the amazin detail of the P3-KTB 70 meg freeware , But I give this model super big thumbs up  , I was ripping around FS2000 in this plane , there was nothing like till the likes off , and all >nzflag< I used it in the Original debut the 'Wigram scenery' and with little magic , Neil put the old Electra panel in , looks brilliant ! . B)

Neither - I think it is just a paste up judging by the amount of cloning in the foothills!
Was a long time ago, and I wish I could find that particulat paradrop effect again somewhere.

Hi Ian

AHHH - that is the panel & a/c I had installed on 2002 and I lost it when I had a PC meltdown and I could not find it again for a reinstall. I read about it in NZ Aviation News I think. It was one of my first add ons I downloaded and I also added custom sound. The panel and model were great. Presumably the Clive Ryan panel is still around on Avsim or Flightsim?

The panel that I used for the RNZAF Orion was the P3 US Panel
produced by Team FS KBT and TeamLCP & FB

I cant for the life of me remember what site I downloaded it from but when its Unzipped the panel is about 14.3 meg in size and thats just the panel.Panel with gauges is about 32 meg or so.I posted some screenshots somewhere here on the forum but cant remember where, of that panel. :(

http://z11.invisionfree.com/nzff/index. ... topic=1144 Ok went looking and found the link for the panel ;)
