Shared Skies - FSC's version of multiplayer has been around for ages ... well, sort of.

best thing ever is when you're alone in the aircraft, switching to the gunner's seat to use the gun, then swapping back into the pilot's seat to regain control of the aircraft- works especially well in the helicopters in BF vietnam

And the most annoying thing when you are in the back seat is when the pilot was only using the plane for transport, and bails on you at 500ft

Like Zöltuger said.. When you get really good in the Battle of Britain map you don't need tail gunners, you can do it yourself. Jump out of the drivers seat into the tail gunner, blow away the spitfire (doesn't take the damage a bomber does) and then get back in the drivers seat and keep flying. Great fun and annoying as heck to the fighters who thought they had an easy kill

That works even better in IL2.... although probably better as if you trim your plane right all you need to do is make minor adjustments to the stick and throttle to get shots at bogeys on your six (your stick and throttle can still fly the plane when you are in a gunner's seat in IL2).

I've been playing quite a bit of BF2 on LAN multiplayer with my mates recently- loads of fun. I love the Gulf of Oman map with the USMC aircraft carrier on it, that even has flyable and hoverable F-35's

Hi Trolly - wow, old thread, I can't remember posting the original post!

Anyhow take a look at what we did when BF2 first came out. It's a short vid of how we thought it went before the Oman that you start the game ... ie, the Yanks taking the beach flags.

Mean vid Matt- I know that map well. The Disturbed soundtrack is perfect, I notice its been cropped short so the rather explicit bit at the end is missed out
