Similar sentiments, I did put in the autogen patches I mentioned in my demo post, but have found it running very smoothly. I dont have add-ons to install at this stage. here are some screenies showing settings, note that my AI settings are low....

Nice pics. I am really impressed with how the buildings look. Take a look at this post , these guys did a microlight trip from Nelson to Blenheim. The houses and back yards on approach at Blenheim look great !

Stuff to land on - excellent.

Not sure about the water colour around the boat though. But over Wangavegas it looks good.

Any chance of a shot or two from NZPM and NZMC?
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

wellington realnz looks great with the water but im having troubles with frame rates down to 10 flp but the water textures are cranked and other setting up so with a bit of playing around and getting things right this will be really cool in fsx
in theses pics nzreal welly /rbe landclass/mesh/
mike

EDIT: i think my problems with the addon lay with the way ive added the addons as i didnt want to double up with scenerys i just added them from fs9 folders in d: drive but that far away from c: and with water etc.... all up and not removing other default building this could add up to the bad frames ,water looks good from lots of different angles ,and i like the improved detail of textures though out , one thing i have to mention but is the handle of the aircraft ive found its changed maybe even slower respond to input ,elephants and missions are cool but a1 is heavy on frames as usual ...

Hi Guys, well it looks good, however my FS9 with Ground Environment,Active Sky, FS Water,Flight Environment, and having an addon scenery for everywhere I fly FSX looks like the bundling of all these things and releasing. I know FSX is better than that tho with it's various new engines and less stutters and that.
I will get it eventually,it's really encouraging that you're getting good performance from it Natas and with all my addons on top of FSX should be amazing, but for now there's still plenty of life left in FS9 for me, I really want to focus on hardware at the mo and grab the software later. Very encouraging tho nonetheless. :plane:

Just a note about the Shadders tweak. The recommendation is turning shaders off and youll see a big increase in performance. This is very true as I discovered after dutifully using Riva to shut down those pesky shaders, and voila! 22 FPS in London Heathrow with ALL sliders maxed minus traffic.

Whats the pay off? Well, pretty much everything that makes FSX FSX. Anything that has shine is now dull, if its wet, no more slick wet runways, no cockpit reflections in the windows in VC mode, no shine on any surface that has it (fuel tankers, leading edges) and the water looks like matt blue blurk!

So, while you get improved performance with shaders turned off, you get crap visuals which in my view dont make it worth it at all. Having said all that I will try with shaders 1.4 forced to see what thats like, I shall let you know.

I'll post a few pics as well to show the difference, then at least those considering this tweak can make an informed decision and not get caught in the 'this is the smoking gun' furore doing the forums.

UPDATE:

Firstly, shaddows in the VC are done using textures, so i was mistaken in my earlier note as I simply couldnt see them due to the light conditions at the time, so thats ok. I have noted however that turning shaders off increases performance by about 100%, hense why this tweak is causing so mch interest. Shaders forced at 1.4 made no difference. As I mentioned, you loose all the shine and water effects this way. From my perspective, if you turn shaders off, you might as well stay with FS9, you can get some great texture replacements that give similar water effects etc and better FPS.
