Today I found out that Air New Zealand Link (Eagle Airways) used to Embraer EMB-110P1 Bandeirante's.

Anyone know of a decent fs2004 version with/without the Kiwi colours?

Hi Andrew , Iv been collecting photo info today for RetroNZ paints and the Bandeirante used by eagle sure will get deserved attention , they have really gone off the radar for sighting , the plane never really gain popularity outside middle NI/ham .

Hi Ian. Thats right, Eagle air operated them out of HAms, but there was another crowd back then called City Jet, operating from NZAA,to NZHN,NZNP and a couple of other places. Colours were white with maroon coloured writing and logo's. I can remeber one other 3rd level feeder line of the time operating one in the NI, but for the life of me i cant remember who.

Andrew,..... Sorry :( , I forgot to answer your question.
No, no NZ paints for FS9 for EMB110s that i know of. I think the last model painted in any NZ colours was around the FS95-- FS98 era. One in Early Air NZ Link 3 stripe livery, and one in City Jet livery, and one in Ansett New Zealand Livery. Have never seen one (except in real life) in the original Eagle Air colours.
But all going well, sometime in the next couple of months, you will be able to see them populating the AI skies in FS-9, along with a few other "Blasts from the Past".

Thanks for the info and link guys.

After a bit more searching, I have found a decent 6.1MB model by J.E.Narcizo on simviation: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props59.htm

That would be really nice to see either the old striped link or newer ANZ textures on... someone.... please???

I know there is one available, I used to have it, however the aircraft that it was for (might have been the narcizo model, I dunno) was crap so I deleted it.

Does this mean I'll be painting Bandits soon?

the banderaintes or "bandits" as they were known used to be the fore runner of the b1900 and were in and out of Auckland in the same way as the b1900 are now - not a bad aeroplane but being a light wake turb category we were not too sorry to see them go. also being unpressurised they were a pain when I was in Gisborne trying to get them down under procedural control with the high MSA's and late descents.

Hi Towerguy. In all your time on towers etc, i dont suppose you ever happened to take a photo of an EMB110 in its original Eagle Airways colours by any chance ??
I am looking for a colour pic for a paint job in an AI project I am involved in.
Got a few B+W pics, but havnt managed to dig up a colour one yet. :(

Hi Lawrie

Will this do?

This was taken at an airshow in Wanganui - 18th of January 1987. Registration is ZK-ERU.

Let me know if you need any more reference.

I don't ever recall seeing the Bandit in AirNZ Link colours? I do know that Tranzair operated a fair few of them out of Wgtn though - the arrangement being with Ansett NZ rather than AirNZ.

Here's a few references for Eagle Air and Tranzair anyway.

ZK-ERU in a later Eagle scheme

ZK-LBC operating for Eagle Air but obviously wearing the colours of it's previous operator (not sure who)

A tranzair example in December 1989.

Tranzair when they operated as a feederline for Ansett (not sure of the dates as there is a gaps in my records here, sorry)

And a poor quality shot, but here are at least four of the Ansett fleet once they ceased operations.

Would be interested to see pics of them in AirNZ colours if they did indeed wear it. It seems to be completely absent from my collection.

Cheers

Hey Jenks. Thanks for the later EAGLE colour  Thats the one i wanted :D
And , YES, they did wear LINK colours, both the early striped livery, and the later WAVES type livery. Have a look on Airliners.net. Thats where i got the link pics from. ZK-TRM in Waves Link, and ZK-FHX in early stripe Link.
Also got a couple of good ones of the Bandy in City-Jet and Ansett NZ liveries.

Lawrie.

Thanks guys for the efforts on the pics  . It is really appreciated.
Any colour pics of EMB110s, or Metroliners from the early days would be appreciated. B+W photos help as well. I am looking for a photo of a couple of NZ Couriers planes from yonks ago. I am only going by memory here, but i think at one stage they had a Metroliner ( i think) and a Cessna 404 Titan ( i think). I dont know whether they owned or leased them. I remember seeing one aircraft in all over red with the yellow NZ Couriers emblems on it. Any ideas or help on that would be appreciated. Also any good pics of NZ Post Metroliners needed.
Any other pics of Bandy's or Metro's etc from other obscure 3rd level feeder or charter lines of the 70s and 80s would be greatfully accepted. :D

Many Thanks,

Lawrie. >nzflag<

Glad the pics were helpful Lawrie.

There seemed to be a multitude of short-lived Metroliner operators around in those days.

I'm sure I will have some pics and details. I'll try and hunt some down and post them tonight.

Cheers

Daym it would be good to see a BSMP Bandeirante! If the Saab 2000 was anything to go by, then all my Christmas' would come at once when it was released

BTW, there is one parked in the ANZ Training centre which has the old link colours (teal and white stripes, and the word 'link' on the tail)

P.S.
Also any good pics of NZ Post Metroliners needed.

There is one around somewhere, for Jon Murchison's model. You can get it from www.flightsim.co.nz (the old ARNZ site).
