Just wondering but will anyone ever bring out a top quality freeware scenery of Auckland Intl (NZAA)? (Like the Wellington scenery by Ian Warren, Robin Corn, James Eden, Jon Murchison & Alistair Slee)
We currently have some qood scenery but each of the two versions I have seen both either aren't detailed enough or are missing a few parts.

Yeah, Auckland really needs a single definitive scenery package. Auckland 2005 (the one that also has ardmore, dairy flat etc) is hard on frames, has static traffic and no good afcads. There is another lighter version made by someone but that ended up lookin all sandy for me.

Try: auckland_real_nz_airports.zip from Avsim.
Its the airports ONLY from the Auckland 2005 scenery, extracted by Rob Diebold.
Its lighter on frames than the original Auckland 2005, and NZAA has had all the static aircraft removed.

It's still pretty horrid on frame rates though Lawrie. I actually removed the package yesterday and have messed up the rest of Auckland airports lol.

I think have two lots of runways over each other, I blame the afcads and me not knowing how to play with them (yeah yeah I know you think there's nothing to them

)

I land on the lower one underground and AI take the high route lol. I put those AFCADs you sent in the required places (both folders) but this is the end result...

Can anyone post any pictures of NZAA from "Auckland 2005" & "auckland_real_nz_airports.zip"? (Mainly from around the domestic terminal e.g. the QANTAS and Air NZ and the commuter stands.

Hey Guys,

I fully agree that NZAA needs a serious update... The Auckland 2005 one is getting real outdated with all the work going on around the airport and I think that the scenery was created based on what the airport looked like in about 2000...

As for the AFCADs, there a few good ones on AVSIM for AKL 05 and will work nicely with the scenery... Search for author "Keagan" and there a number there.

Kelburn. They are the SAME buildings. The Airports package for RealNZ Auckland is just the AIRPORTS ONLY from the Auckland 2005 Scenery package, modified to fit into Robin's RealNZ Auckland scenery. It has had the static aircraft etc at NZAA removed, along with all the other city buildings, roads and other scenery items that originally came in the Auckland 2005 Scenery. Its still a heavy hitter on fps depending upon how much AI traffic you are using, but its not as bad a hitter on fps as the older complete 2005 scenery was.
