Boeing Panel

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby ZK-MAT » Sun Oct 15, 2006 2:18 pm

I was whiling away a lazy Sunday and saw the The Ultimate Boeing Panel
V3.1 there on one of the 'most downloaded' pages.

It's a hefty download at 47 megs but IMO pretty nice. It comes with all you need in front of you plus nice sounds, views and addon sounds like boarding Muzak (maybe not a good thing), safety and turbulence announcements, and so on.

Here are some quick shots in action (resized 640 x 480). I reckon the passengers are facing the wrong way in the 3rd shot though!

The download is HERE @ AVSIM

Yep but I didn't activate it (I use FS Nav to see where other planes are)

It's the vert speed gauge - the manual details how it operates (right and left mouse clicks to toggle)

The panel's is not too bad as far as hurting fps, and has a bit of clutter yeah, but it's all pretty usable stuff (that first shot is with the extra bits open - the last shot is how it would normally be).

I have my PC running the best it ever has and are loathe to mess with anything cfg based now. It's only an AMD2600 with a 256 meg 6600GT AGP and 1 gig RAM.

Pretty lame compared to some of the systems I hear about today but sometimes the latest and greatest isn't always the best, I still reckon my old ti4200 128meg Nvidia card was the bees knees for FS, but I needed to upgrade that 18 months ago to play some of the newer games.

wow so thats a simerla procesor to mine ae. you just got a better gfx card and a tad more Ram. Im fealing a bit frustrated at my pc's performace as I just flew a A320 into nzwn with low vis and the fps were >9 , with all autogen off! thats not to mention the fps from spot :o  Ill get a better vod card and more RAM some time next year thow:P , Im looking forward to this "stuter less" fs10!

Just purely for testing purposes Jimmy I'll send you my fs9.cfg

It may not be a success but should overwrite my graphic card details with yours and perhaps my settings produce better results. Many things I have set to lower than max to maximise performance at only a negligible drop in quality.

Rename your existing one (say to fs9.cfg.bak) then pop mine in and see if anything's different. FS, being what it is, won't probably make any difference but it's worth a crack.

Just be careful, I have AA on 4x, AF on 2X, set on my Graphics Card. If you don't change it on your card using this config it will look all 'jaggy'. It also looks much better in fullscreen mode, not windowed. But then again no games look good windowed.
