Nice photos! That mystery airplane appears to be a CAC Boomerang, an Australian WWII fighter. I love that first photo of the Sea Fury!

I love that first photo of the Sea Fury!

Yes at first I thought it was just my new display settings, but it's more than that for sure. Lovely stuff.

One of the Baghdad furies (http://www.warbirdregistry.org/furyregi ... zksfr.html) not many piston single prop machines were faster, could be second only to the bearcat.

Oh yeah! Lana just guessed what the Sea Fury was! She's the greatest!

That is most definitely a Boomerang - Matt Denning, the dude in the blue helmet, bought her as a bare frame when he was 17 and spent the past 25 years restoring it to fly! Pretty cool, huh?

Great pics..........I did think the one of Spit MH434 was a tad out of place though  .....

I should have said "these are from Avalon, except for the spit one near the middle" :)

And yes, thats the boomerang, thats for clearing that one up.

BTW, wasnt it a seafury that was the only piston aircraft to ever shoot down a jet fighter (an Australian or RAF guy in Korea I believe)?

Well Lt Carmicheal's SF in Korea did shoot down a MiG (the colour scheme is the same the ex-Kiwi SF now wears), but some Mustangs (and I think Spitfire XIVs) shot down Me262s in the Second World War.

Hi Guys

Just read somemwhere that the guy who owns the Seafury has been arrested for Tax fraud and the Aussie govt. has impounded this plane along with his collection of others planes including a Ryan STM, Yak 3 (I think AFC's old aircraft), NA T-28 Trojan and an Grumman Avenger (also was AFC's) Maybe there wil be a fire sale and soem well end up back here.

Cheers

Sea Fury, Sea Hurricane, Sea Fire, all available and gorgeous every one.
Look for sfrel7.zip I think is the latest one for the Fury.

From the aircraft.cfg:
[General]
performance=* Weight: 9942 lbs Max 12500 lbs * Power: 2520 hp MIL 2520 hp WEP * 7.5g Corner speed: 261 mph * Max speed @ SL: 415 mph * Max speed: 460 mph @ 17500 ft * Climb rate: 4840 ft/min @ 149 mph\nAircraft by David Hanvey\nTextures by Paul Barry\n Flight Model By: Jerry Beckwith Mudpond Virtual Aircraft 9/21/03 Flight Model Workbook V2.83.47

This is a real aeroplane, testicles should be suitably positioned.

Ah yes, how silly of me to forget those stang and spit drivers and what they accomplished. Perhaps I was thinking a seafury was the last piston engined plane to shoot a mig down?

You reckon we should pass the hat around the forum members? I reckon the Seafury would look great in the forums colour scheme! :)
