the only ads i see are the little non-obtrusive 'Ads by Google'...

Yes, these are the ones I am talking about. Crazy_Craig recently paid $5 to remove them, but now they have returned as you can see in these screenshots:

Fixed: If you want to get rid of the annoying Google adverts, simply download the 2KB "Kill Google Ads" extension for Mozilla Firefox, found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1996/

If you are using IE or any other browser, I am afraid I can't help you. Mozilla is better anyway

Interestingly I don't see then or any Google ads, without that addon, but I do use Firefox with the old AdBlock plug in so maybe that stops it....

Yeah that's it, I looked in the AdBlock settings and http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com is blocked there. AdBlock FTW

ahhhh that explains why I dont see anything at home... but on my work laptop I do... I havent installed AdBlock on the work laptop yet

I barely even noticed until Trolly mentioned it... I'm too busy scrolling down to notice little ads:)

Works with IE as well, just go; Tools>Internet Options>Security, then add http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com to the blocked sites list.
For anyone who wants to get rid of the ads with the browser the web was made for... Microsoft Internet Explorer...
