To push FSX to the limit, you'll need a DirectX 10 Card- which is what nvidia is releasing details of:

"The new NVIDIA graphics architecture will be fully compatible with Microsoft's upcoming DirectX 10 API"
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=4441

NVIDIA's GeForce 8800GTX will be the flagship product. The core clock will be factory clocked at 575 MHz. All GeForce 8800GTX cards will be equipped with 768MB of GDDR3 memory, to be clocked at 900 MHz.
[...]
Slotted right below the GeForce 8800GTX is the slightly cut-down GeForce 8800GTS. These graphics cards will have a G80 GPU clocked at a slower 500 MHz

get saving now- not only for the card, but for power supplies: "The marketing material included with the card claims NVIDIA requires at least a 450W power supply for a single GeForce 8800GTX, and 400W for the 8800GTS."

Definately something to look foward to. After FSX has been out a while we'll be able to get a better idea about what is needed to make it go really good without spending more than absolutley necessary,as this is going to be expensive.Good on you for being on to it so we've got somewhere to start.(a decent power supply!)
2 wrongs don't make a right but 2 Wrights made an aeroplane!

Keep this one for winter - in SLI mode it eats 800W of power.
Turn off the heaters first.
