i was playing need for speed most wanted, and about 30 minutes from when I started to play, the screen went funny, with vertical and horizontal lines everywhere and the computer froze. Anyone know why this happened? It wasnt temperature because it was sitting at a steady 60-70 degrees.

Maybe your CPU got clogged up, where you running any background programs?

How much RAM do you have?

seen a graphics card do something similar once, but that was because the owner cleaned the dust from the card with a toothbrush.Card didn't like the static electricity.only thing I can suggest is to turn the computer off for a while and then see if it does it when you turn it back on.If the card is shot you will notice it right from the start. If it boots to windows ok then I would be looking at the drivers.

seeing as its an ati card, ive tried the omega drivers and the new catalyst 6.9 ones from ati site. Both have the same problem. background programmes running? Temp monitoring software, ICQ messenger, ATI driver programmes. Never ever have anti virus running as it is a waste of precious RAM :P NFSMW is patched to the latest version and my RAM is 1024MB (4 times the minimum requirement)

Im sure it has nothing to do with my overclocking because it has done this before once, before I OC it.
