lol Mike I know what you mean mum rang sky to see why they cut off the service there reply was it was a week late she said it was impossible the guy argued with her and then hung up I rang him right back and gave him a$$holes and said it was all up to date (this was a wednesday payment goes out thursday) I also stated that they hadnt given us credit for the 13 hours sky was out for a few months back all I did was turn on the TV and *wallah* sky was back on.

115 is what your modem is connected to your PC at - ie the internal port speed. You wont actually be connected at 115kb/s, not with a 56k modem, it's impossible. It's usually a sign of an incorrect driver for the modem.
Try a 500kb test from http://www.jetstreamgames.co.nz/speed/
(I get Your line speed is approximately 3192.8 Kbps or 391.3 K bytes/sec
( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes )
See what it reports your speed as (CTRL and F5 to refresh if you have done it prior).
To get it to report the actual speed, try going to control panel/modem/properties/connection/advanced and in the 'extra settings' box type W2.
This works for most modems to tell the modem to show connection speed,as opposed to port speed.

I don't really mind useing 56k, downloading stuff is painfull but normal browsing doesn't actuly anoy me, well not as much as 30 buks a mounth would for cable internet (yeah I'd have to pay for it lol)
I have a 56k modem at home but it'll always connect at about 50k, so the modem is cabable of 56k, so your internet natas is just useing the whole 56k ae?
It shows how much faster things are with a small incress in speed....
