Hi Warren

I don't believe the Aussie F4s ever came to NZ. I remember USAF F-4Es in NZ in the late 70's (flew over our house in the Naki if I remember correctly) at an airshow in Ohakea in the early 80s.

Sorry don't have photos of Aussie f4s over than some black and white ones in a RAAF book I have.

Hi Naki

They would have a site and sound to see , Purnell/lynch publication - RAAF since 1911?
I found a link with colour photos and history .

I tell a lie - I double checked the book I have (Australia's Military Aircraft - Ross Gillett) and ther is soem coulour phots on page 62. Looks like the standard USAF scheme from the 70's with RAAF roundels & markings. Glad you found some photos and look forward to your repaint of Cloud 9 F-4 (which looks great) - if that what you are doing? The real thing is impressive although the F-111 at Wanaka is hard to beat.

Cheers

F111's .. Damm! they are impressive , just no good FS model yet ,Seen with 3 bird flame demo , night flamer at Avalon and of all PLACES! 2 punchin holes thru the sky misty/cloudy85/86 day went verticle and leaving them open due to afterburners 'Wigram'! , this Cloud9 F4 is from me High recommend ! Alphasim type nice , lotta versions , and have not seen the IRIS model but guess worth it , depends on how u look at the plane,
So i really checked it out , the moneys was to pay for a super good Heli, something about speed !
I better Install Robins Naki for u Naki and Screenie the Aussie F4 for U over the NAKI

Yes saw the F 111 at Wanaka this year. First time I have seen the dump & burn - must be spectacular at night.

Can't wait to see the RAAF Phamtom over Egmont! :D

That looks awesome Warren. It looks like the Cloud 9 F-4 is the best FS military jet out there at the moment.

I am afraid I have overspent on other A/C so no Cloud 9 F-4 for me (yet). I''l have to stick to my RealAir Spitfire for my need for speed.

Cheers
