G day all you real Kiwis. I was kidnaped as a boy a forced to live in Aussie, but that was 40 years ago. Now Ive got my own mob all grown up, but still rember the place I called home for the first ten years of my life. When I was a boy I would sit on a fence on the oldmans dairy farm and watch the fletcher top dress the padocks. I never new this aircraft by any other name , recently I thought I might look him up on the net and see if they were still about. To my suprise and delight I found they are still flying and have been redeveloped yet again. This pleased me no end so I set about finding myself a model to fly on fs9, but couldnot find one. Being a good kiwi lad ,at least at heart, I decided to rectify this and made my own. if you want to have a butchers go to http://www.ausflightsim.net/ and its in the download section. my email address is in the read me file and if you want to let me know what you really think of my effort either way I would be glad to here from you. cheers all marty

It might be rugged and simple, but it's definitely an iconic piece of NZ aviation history. :)

I had a flight just then... the VC is good... the 2d panel is not. Real fletchers would never have an HSI, and I found that the panel was far too tall. Also my dad noted that fletchers have a stick rather than a control column.

Sorry for the criticism, but if you decide to update you might want to address these things.

I would realy like to tidy up the panel. I emailed a few owners I found on the net but could not get any replies. If anyone comes across a picture of the panel I would love to see it. no probs on feedback always glad to get it. marty

Yeah, I looked on airliners.net and kiwiaircraftimages.net but none of them had any panel images. I'm going flying on sunday, I'll see if I can get anywhere near a fletcher for you.

this is my first go. so Ive got a few things to fix, as you say the prop is one, Ive still got to rework the air.cfg file abit and the panels. great pix here though, the fill point opens if you use the tail hook command, I use Shift + t, but you have to assign the key manualy. If you know of a Kiwi site I can upload to I'll do a revision. many thanks for the interest marty.

I don't want to steal your thunder, but I have also been making an FU24 (amonst other projects). It will feature a very detailed VC. I'd be interested in any digital pics which you may be able to supply. Mike Stead supplied me with some pics of ZK-DYX many years ago - Mike if you are reading - I'm finally making it !!

I am currently making the FU24-950M and will also make the Walter Turbine variant before making the Cresco. I will also don spec the models to make AI aircraft.

I have a good pic of the panel, which was sent to me by Phoenix Aviation if you want a copy.

If anybody has access to an FU24 and wants to help - I'd be grateful for any pics of the cockpit panel, seats, controls, side walls, bulkheads etc so I can produce the most accurate textres for the VC

Screenshots soon.

good one deane, great to see the strong intrest in this old bird and all its variations. I havent got much in the way of cocpit pictures exept the old version that Mike sent. Im not up on Ai but could sky divers become Ai and leave the cresco. It would be easy enought to get them out of the plane but I cant find a way to make em fall. If any one has any ideas I'd be glad to here from you.

Pacificair have a small picture of there gps panel on there site if that helps. I contacted them but got no reply. Good luck with the model cheers all marty.

There is a smoke effect somewhere...Heather Sherman perhaps?
I used it to paradrop stuff from a C130 once.
There were various flavours including crates/packages or skydivers according to the type of smoke effect you selected. Should do the job for the flyable one.
Don't know what you'd do for the AI, an altitude trigger perhaps?

If you want some great photos check out the Wanganui Aero Work website at

Wanganui Aero Work

If what you need isn't there flickem an email. I've flown with them a couple of times and they're very obliging. Just explain what you're doing and you never know what you might get.

As for the Skydiver. There was a site that had one you could download and actually deploy the shute and control the decent. fs2004.com I think but I'll try to locate the proper link and confirm the website.
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

I HAD that, then got rid of it, as a "meat bomb" the control of it is nothing like the real thing..

Here's a link to the Skydiver for anyone that's interested.

I haven't tried it myself so don't know if it's any good or not.

Though Craigs comment suggests - it's a big Not.

Good one Deane,if it's anything like your Huey It'll be well worth the wait. The one recently uploaded to Avsim by Marty is OK and better than ning but 2D and VC very crude. Sound aliased to a 4 cyl cessna. That will be the icing(on the cake not the carb!) to have a proper sound package. 8cyl opposed, nothing like it!
2 wrongs don't make a right but 2 Wrights made an aeroplane!
