Good news for Real NZ Auckland users...

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby ZK-LGD » Wed Aug 02, 2006 8:52 am

howdy charl,

And a plea from the heart: Is there anyone who can strip out:
1. ALL static aircraft  - heck we have to have somewhere to put all those Cessnas!

all static ac were stripped from nzaa ages ago.

look for nzaaexclude.zip in the scenery file area at yahoo!group: kiwiflightsim forum. you will need to join the forum to acces this area.
Regards,
Dorian

Hey Dorian!

Actually, NZAA is a pre-stripped version. The airports that have statics are the others (NZAR, NZWP, NZNE, etc.).

Plenty of parking at all the airports, even with the statics. Especially at NZAR, makes it more real (NZAR is BUSY!).

I might see if I can do something with the roads, though. We'll see.

Make sure you add that Flatten file from the readme

There's a Readme??
Just kidding, apologies Rob I did include the flatten but then removed and re-installed the scenery so it went into cybertrash.
NZAR is back in business.

all static ac were stripped from nzaa ages ago.

Yes I know,...and actually take the credit for asking for, and getting, the recompile, yonks ago.
I was grizzing about NZNE which needs a bit of space around the clubhouse for all the upcoming AI. And the 727 at Whenuapai :o
I'll agree Ardmore can have as much static around as long as it behaves with the framerates...still like to see the FR's without statics though.

And the roads really do need help, so it would be great if you could swing something there.

Thanks again for assembling the package, Rob

Yeah, I did notice that, but I'm not sure which file has that bridge. I figured I could live with it until Robin comes out with his definitive model.

I'll keep looking, though.

Hi Rob. Only issues i could see with it were the 2 North Harbour bridges, and some of the old 2005 roads in places. I noticed the airport radar at NZAA is sitting in the water, right on the edge of the land, and one static aircraft still in front of the domestic terminal at NZAA, a little Embraer twin in Air NZ Livery. Parking was another thing at NZAA, a large number of domestic traffic are parking at the international terminal, and some of the international stuff is parking at the domestic terminal. (I am using Project-AI traffic). I tried the old original 2005 AFCAD, and the aircraft went back to parking at the appropriate terminals (although some of the parking was slightly out of place).
All in all though, a WONDERFULL job. Its so good to see all of Robins RealNZ Auckland showing now, instaead of the 2005 stuff.

Cheers,

Lawrie.

Magnum,

As for the runway, everything at NZAA runs off the AFCAD, so you might have a corrupted AFCAD file. You can either try and reinstall the AFCAD into the Addon Scenery file, or try moving it to the Auckland Airports file. OR, you may need to redownload the package and reinstall if none of those work.

Lawrie, I must say one of the things in the NZAA AFCAD that I FORGOT to mention (OOOOOPS! My apologies!) is that I have changed the codes for the domestic flights to separate them out from the international.

(Kinda big thing to forget, right? Sorry, I was in a rush.)

Air NZ 737s are listed as ANZX, the 1900s are EGL or EAG (Eagle), 340s and Dash 8s are RLK (Air Nelson), ATRs are NZM (Mount Cook). Qantas Jet Connect is QNZ. Origin is OGN. NZ Post (I have the Metros running) is PST, Great Barrier is GBA, and Mountain is MTN (the last two from my Great Barrier scenery pack). Changing those codes should help things park in the right space.

And it IS nice to have the Real NZ photreal scenery running with "close-to-real" airports. Sure there are some "issues," but we're making do with what we have until the real thing comes out, right? ;)

(This thing is darn near a sticky at the moment, isn't it?)

I have the same problem with vanishing Runways at Auckland. Checked for duplicate AFCADS and used the Afcad tool and found nothing odd.

Hmmm... Appears to be a sporadic problem. Try the fixes as listed above. If that doesn't work, try the Auckland 2005 AFCAD for NZAA that comes with it, and see if that works. If it does, then you'll know the AFCAD in your Real Auckland is corrupted and you may need to redownload.
