Does anyone else here read the "Pacific Wings" magazine?

It's a 100% NZ bred aviation magazine with a lot of local news and storys, plus you can even submit your plane-spotting photo's to them via e-mail, and if they are published, you recieve a cash reward! :D

HI
yep i read it. In the days when i actuly had freinds, my old freinds dads an airline pilot and hed give me his old wings magazines, i still get them from him every so often.

Someone should submit a realy good fs screen shot to the wings mag, it'd be funy if they published it as a real photo :D

They are good magazines (great for when i get that anoying "do something else than sit in front of that computer" )

Does any one get the computer pilot magazine? thats a must have :)

Howdy,

Yep. Have been reading "Wings" since about early 2001 and had me the pleasure(?) <_< of searching their archives for material for my thesis. Several years ago they even ran a monthly Flight Sim column.

"PC Pilot" or "Computer Pilot"? Until about a year ago it was damn near impossible to purchase the US edition over the counter. Yes, they're interesting; however, I find they are too "out of date" by the time they arrive on NZ shelves. And why pay good money for information that's freely available on dedicated FS news web sites (AvSim, FlightSim.com, SimFlight, yada yada, yada)?

(Geeze, I've been a student wayyyyy tooooo long :D )

Just my two penneth.

Yes I had an email from one of them asking if they could use stuff I had previously uploaded, for a cover CD.
In retrospect it's probably a bit cheeky of them, innit?
But I was so pleased at the prospect of Being Published I said Sure Thing and send me the magazine please.
So keep an eye out for a world famous NZ author!

I recently brought 26 computer pilot magazines on trademe stretching all the way back to DEC 03 (only 30 buks !lol), Alot of the info is still very usefull, e.g theres a LDS 767 review thats mounths old but still usefull because I may buy that product soon, the lessons are great and never get out of date! :D

oh and theres the pull out posters (what more could we ask for lol).

Oooh! Nice on Charl!

I did not know we had a front page cover artist among us!

Is there any chance you could scan in your cover or upload the screenie you took that was published?

I'd love to see the digital artwork you made, that is so good, that the magazine requested to print it ;)

I'm pretty sure it's not cover art they were after - it was for inclusion on the freebie CD that goes with the magazine.
And, publishing being what it is, I haven't received my copy of the magazine either!
We'll just have to wait and see what they use I guess.
