My Introductry Flight

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Today i went to the canterbury aero club for a introductry thats was canceld last week because of fog. I flew in a PA-32-112 or "tomahawk". We taxied up to the hold short lines of runway 02. We waited a few mins while a A320 landed right infront of us!! :D once the airbus cleared the runway my instructor lined us up and told me what to do for takeoff (just the same as what i do in my sim every day!) I pused the trottle full forward ,built up to 60 knots then pulled back :)
I got to fly over the city for a while doing turns etc.. I wasnt able to get over my home because of airspace and stuff. My instructor asked me what I want to do :D so of course i said " Steep turn!" :D She asked if I wanted to do it or her do it for me , I took the obveis anserw. I rolled the aircraft in to a 45 degree turn to the left then to the right , It was so kool!

Then I flew to the airport and then my instructor took the controls and enterd the traffic pattern and land. (she didnt let me land :( )
We taxied to parking and shut down the aircaft. I got my photo taken infront of the aircraft. I might post it here when i get it ( it was taken on a aero club camera and I can pick it up from a photo shop this week :) )

So that was my introductry flight. it was great!.....Now all I have to do is save up for my ppl traing from my paper round (dat'll take a very long time lol) and not use it all on buying a faster p.c. lol

I hope you injoyed reading my little story (sorry about all the words I forgot how to spell lol)

Im sure you had a blast!!

My intro flight (5yrs ago lol) I will never forget, he stalled the plane, let me do a few barrel rolls and he finished off with a 'wing roll' and a steep landing into Jandakot. Oh boy was that something :D

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Jimmy!

I had an intro flight for my birthday once, this was back in England quite a few years ago, and I remember how much fun it was to fly a real plane rather than one on the screen!

It is so much different from the sim, but at the same time, it is good to know your basic aircraft facts for real life which you gain from experience from sim.

Steep turns are awesome- there is no way fs2004 can create those G force you feel :o

Thanks for sharing your story mate!
