Look at the size of those wing fences!
Nice overhead pic FV, shows early-style swept wing.
It would've created massive spanwise flow and major drag vortices without the fences.

Republic F84 Thunderjet close - that was more Korean War , the next models were swept winged and stayed in the cold war fray right into the 80's -

I think many get repeated , its good to see other peoples perseption , think most was to show this was a freeware now and variety of paints and models , and heck if we got a good panel photo , for the 2d it would be great model

A pair of RNZAF Strikemasters on a training sortie

The BAC 167 Strikemaster is essentially an armed version of the Jet Provost T.Mk 5; the Strikemaster was modified with an up-rated engine, wing hard-points, a strengthened airframe, new communication and navigation gear, up-rated ejection seats, a revised fuel system, and shortened landing gear. First flown in 1967, the aircraft was marketed as a light attack or counter-insurgency aircraft.

Capable of operating from rough air strips, with dual ejection seats suitable even for low-altitude escape, it was widely used by third-world nations. Use of the type was restricted by most users after the Royal New Zealand Air Force found fatigue cracking in the wings of its aircraft. Aircraft retired by Botswana, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Singapore have found their way into museums and private collections.

On 5 October 2006, due to loss of a wing, a Strikemaster crashed in New South Wales, Australia, claiming two lives. Fatigue of the wing may come with age as well as usage. Approximately a dozen privately-owned Strikemasters are still flying.

Back in the 80s a US carrier came to NZ and some F-14s did fly over NZs skys including the Waikato. The only problem is the protesters who always show up when US ships arrive in NZ.

I no the USS America (CV/CVA) entered Wellington in 1966, missed that , I had no influence on my parents at the age of 4 to get me to the capital .... i don,t understand why , but a visit by a Carrier in the 80s .. Jeepers I thought i had a good memory , I recall the USS's Truxtun ,Whipple, South Carolina , and maybe the Long Beach , SUBS Pintado and few others but a Super Carrier , maybe it stayed well out in international waters and and flew 14s from , never saw them over CHCH ... 1981 their was an join military , USAF F15s over NZ in concert with KC135s , E3WAs and the RAAF , fun times spent more time on the factory roof than in the plant , so close to Wigram
