Yep Charl- my shot was taken departing 23L at NZAA, at about 8pm Springtime inside the sim if I remember correctly.

My sunset is not the default one- it is the enhanced textures that come with VOZ 1.1 B)

regarding sunset

on thursday with about 45mins to sunset the sun was exactly 231 magnetic - the shadows of the aircraft tails were aligned straight along the taxiway centerlines as they were going past the tower - so it would have set about a degree or two south of that.

cheers

We can move this discussion from "screenshots" later because I'd like to pursue it.
Help me out here:
South of the tropic of Capricorn, the sun is always in the northern hemisphere of the sky, right?
NZAA has a magnetic variation = -20 degrees, so 231 magnetic translates to 251 true.
Looking down Rwy 23, then the sun should set to the right, by at least 20 degrees, and more in winter.
If not, why not?
Are we the first to discover that the earth has tilted (and not only in the FS world! :P )

Beechcraft 1900D enroute from NZTG to NZAA... no scripting, slewing or editing (except for cropping to 984x700)... just popped out to have a look and bam... there it was!

Hi Timmo - the Skyhawk is the old Dennis da Silva one from FS2002 and the RNZAF paint is mine (the first repaint I ever did :) ) but it still flies OK in FS9. Difficult to taxi though!

The Razbam Skyhawks are supposed to be quite good, but their kiwi repaints are pretty dodgy. They don't appear to have used any reference to do them.. they appear to be a bit of a guess. <_<

The Strikemaster is Rick Piper's Jet Provost with my RNZAF paint on it. Still to be tidied up before it is good enough to release.

The Skyhawk is still on Flightsim.com. search for "rnzaf_a4.zip". The 'Strikemaster' is on Rick Piper's site which you can get to through 'www.cbfsim.org'.

I'll try and get the Stikemaster skin finished for you. But have a look at the topic "under the radar" in the screenshots forum here if you want a better look at the Strikemaster. (I think it's on around page 7 or 8 of the screenshot forum).

Spitfire somewhere over the BOP. Like many, it was one of those times you switch to spot view and just had to press print screen.

The distinctive outline, and the mirror!
