Over the Roof of the World – Flying the Himalayas in a CJ3+

Some flights leave an impression not because of the aircraft, but because of the landscape.
This was one of them.

With the CJ3+, I crossed from Srinagar (VISR) in India to Lhasa (ZULS) in Tibet. A route that – even in a simulator – demands planning, respect for terrain, and a steady hand. Cruising altitude was FL450, just enough to clear the massive wall of the Himalayas, but still close enough to feel the presence of these giants.

No modern autopilot or synthetic vision can fully replace situational awareness here. Especially when weather or unexpected winds come into play.

The CJ3+ handled the climb and cruise with ease. A small, clean jet – agile, reliable, but never arrogant.
Just like a good mountain guide.

I’m attaching a few screenshots – yes, I know, one or two could have been left out… but this time, I wanted to preserve the full arc of the experience.
