Some very nice pics of, in my opinion, a very ugly aircraft, worse than the A380 if thats possible. :P

theres anothor example of something that only flys cos the earth repels it!

In fact how does it fly? Whats the power of those engines?

Good shots ,and good piloting to be able to fly that monstrosity

8 is my favorite screenie there

How does it fly - exactly like any other plane. Its the weight which counts. Although these aircraft have oversize fuselages which will certainly add additional drag, they are carrying items (aircraft wings and fuselages) which are relatively lightweight. With this in mind an the fact they are not flying long legs (hence carry less fuel) the AUW of the aircraft is probably less than most 747, a320 commercial flights. The engine requirements are not an issue I would imagine.

Brillaint shots, particually number 1 and 2

That Beluga sure is a beast, and I remember wanting a fsim version a while back to test out but could never find one. Now that I have seen it through your screenies chuyo, I don't think I will actually spend money on buying it  (no offence)

There is a freeware one on avsim, origanly made for fs2000 and will aper as unspecified in fs.

Once you put a panel with it it would be quite good, don't know about the flight dynamincs thow....

Quite right about the performance figures... our pilots who fly those STs all report that she flies excellently. OK, there is extra form drag, but there is also vastly improved stability. Well, maybe not vastly...

We have five flying, four in the Airbus livery and one "white" which is used for non-company transports occarionally. I think it has even been lent to some government to do an aid delivery to help out disaster relief.

A pity UPS would never really own one (AFAIK), but then again, it is not a "mass" transporter, rather a "volume" transporter, and since most passenger planes of that size have at least around 3 - 5% "spare" weight capacity (or margin of error) the Beluga is very rarely anywhere near AUW of a normal 310, so the engines have relatively gentle lives. And then again, most civvy engines have relatively easy lives because of the margins.

At least the Beluga has elegance in lines. The 380 is simply BUFF and the Boeing counter to the ST is even uglier - but that is just personal taste
