Just added a comment on your posting @ VASK letting them know you're a respectable block to be dealing with mate![]()
I imagine that if any of the Auckland VASKers take it, it will be cut n shut into a circuit car though... There's been a sudden influx of VR6's on TM in the last few weeks - a couple of stunners, and one or two that make yours look like a top-shelf example!
Best of luck with the sale![]()
(Oh and if a chap on VASK that goes by the name of VAG_nutter tries to buy it, steer clear... bit of a con artist)

mate that is a nice civic, they are good cars, very little go wrong with them, i had a 1985 crx, i literllay drove it into the ground for two years, didn't change the oil or anything just made sure it had oil, it started first pop every time and ran like a dream
JasonIn the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

i can tell ya the honda bike ain't like that, and we all have to start some where, a civic while a grannies car is still a good start, my first car (after the hillman hunter s/w) was a 1988 25x dual carb honda civic

$700 is spot on for a clutch job, however I would do it for $200 and some painkillers (popping the clutch slave out on these is a pig of a job - you have to sit on the leading bulkhead, and using 3 left hands, 2 rights and a foot, try to open the circlip which is hidden from sight and apply pressure on the slave)![]()
Hope it finds a good home mate!
Yeah I'll be earning this year so I'm keen to get something a bit newer and quicker, probably a Legacy RS or some kind of Nissan RB. Replacing the clutch master cylinder was enough for me- I'm hardly a mechanic haha. Do you have any bits around for my 33 that you're keen to sell? Looking for rear spoiler, Series 2 style tail lights (with clear indicators) and maybe some lower springs. Not really expecting her to sell for that price, just seeing what interest I get.

Check the pick-a-part website, there's a link to each of the yards (there's one down your way) and it lists what they have in the yard... you rock up with tools, hand over a gold coin and go nuts![]()
All parts are the same price - eg: all headlights are $40 for instance... I think the most expensive item they sell is any multi-cam V8, which if I recall is $750.

Picked it up for a steal using the "shock and awe" technique - You can almost always buy a car for less than they're worth by waving cold hard cash at the seller...
No modifications have been done to it apart from a towbar being fitted at some point.
2.0 16v punching out 167hp @ 7800rpm through a sweet 6 speed box and man does it sound sweet!
Blame our rarely seen member SupaSid for my purchase, as he had one of these when we were both actively flying[/quote]
Oh nice. One of them used to live just up the road and I convinced myself I was going to buy one. As usual it lasted about a week

Should wizz through a wof, drivers side window not working (new mechanisms are like rocking horse poo...) but mechanically fit.

What are the current problems with it? If I sell the Alfa for $3500 it will leave me around $1300 to spend on a car after repaying debt etc, so an Audi Coupe for $1000 sounds far more bearable than a Suzuki Alto or something..
