I assume that this is with RealNZmarlborough active. If not, let me know.
This is normally caused by an extra AFCAD-style file for NZWB. This can be tricky to track down, so if is probably best to search your FSX installation for 'NZWB' and see what comes up. You should have two for RealNZ -- both called AF2_NZWB.bgl, one in Scenery\World\Scenery, and one in RealNZmarlborough\scenery.
If you can't see these, or there is anthing extra, let me know.

OK, the problem is that my NZ Marlborough is puyt on from a backup of the installed files in the NZ MARLB. direct5ory, the original disk was lost when I shifted about four years ago

Ok, you should be able to COPY the AF2_NZWB.bgl from RealNZmarlborough\Scenery to Scenery\World\Scenery. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Robin,
Any tips for how to fix this? I am floating above the runway in Blenheim in FS2004. I have tried installing from my disc, and even tried a download of the version from avsim.
And if I can't figure out how to fix it with you, how can I return to the default airport? I tried deleting the first install I did from the disc and the default I returned to also had elevation problems. Can't see an uninstaller anywhere smile.gif I know you've moved on from this now, but I hope you won't mind helping out for old times sake. Thanks very much,
Alister

Edit: Have fixed it good enough for my liking, just some low terraces to the southern end of 06.
Renamed SCENERY\OCEN\SCENERY\AP994460.bgl to .bak
I have a 2.61kb AF2_NZWB.bgl in Addon Scenery\Scenery and 2.19kb AF2_NZWB.bgl in Scenery\World\scenery
That seems to make it all work out. Just played around moving and renaming until the combinations worked out biggrin.gif

Thanks

Hello Alister-
Just had a look in my Classic FS. I have terraces to the south of 06, and an 07 floating above, at about the same height as the terraces. Pretty sure this is related to the CalClassic scenery & AI. I can see some stray buildings too.
At least the 07 will make it easy to identify the problem AFCAD. The mesh is FS Global 2010, and RBE 20m is also installed.
Quite a few years back, I had problems with a helicopter AI add-on, which wrought havoc with the RBE 20m mesh, in quite a few places.
This should give you the full size pic http://postimg.org/image/uvuj6yten/ just click on 'full size' at the bottom.

Yes, this has always been a big issue, AI addons can include airport facilities updates (AFCADs for FS9) to add parking spaces, but these also have a hard-coded elevation, which will mess with any other elevations. So you really need to do a tidy-up after installing anything like this, making sure that any custom facilities files are not duplicated by the AI addon.

Alister -- since I tweak the Woodbourne elevation, there are normally a few files which work together to set the new elevation -- as you figured, there's one in Addon Scenery\Scenery and one in Scenery\World\Scenery. There is also a flatten in the realNZmarl\Scenery folder. Losing any one of these would mess things up, as well as the issue with conflicting AFCADs. Since FSX, the Addon Scenery\Scenery AFCAD is now kept with the rest of the airport scenery, which helps with some things, but removes the ability to just check the Addon Scenery\Scenery folder for duplicates.

Since an airport like this needs to be forced flat, there will always be at least one edge which doesn't match the elevation. These days there are ways to minimise this, but for FS9 it was more difficult.

10 Squirrels? Was made specifically for RBE and Godzone sceneries.
There were 2 issues in that package:
I goofed in Auckland and left in the rooftop helipad on the ASB building which sucked up Robin's photoreal.
(You needed to bin the AFCAD) I still haven't figured out why.
And Queen's wharf in Wellington sucked up the sea level locally too. There was a patch for that.

All the GNZLAP AFCADs followed RBE.
And as long as you had the original RealNZ Scenery\World\Scenery file, there was no issue, ever.
That one was needed for some reason to "nail down" the base elevations.

Thanks for the info everyone! I think I had a spare afcad pull through with this new install, as I simply copied and pasted my "addon scenery" folder from FS2004 old to FS2004 new.
Cheers again for the help everyone.

Charl, I think my memory is at fault here - I did not start out with Godzone + the RBE mesh, so it was the default mesh at that time. My apologies.

Just in case anyone copies this in the future...
Doing this: Renamed SCENERY\OCEN\SCENERY\AP994460.bgl to .bak resulted in me losing default airports of NZWU, NZOH, NZPM, (RealNZ Wellington was lost but I fixed that), NZMS, and NZNS
I have fixed NZNS, NZPM with addon scenery/ and or afcad.

Just to tidy this up - the CalClassic NZWB has an elevation of 109' and runway 7/25. The RealNZ Marlborough one is 82' and 6/24.
Cheers
