A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

I've been interested in the FlightSims since pre FS98, but have been pretty slack lately. This came about thru other interests and the fact that my gear was getting pretty well passed it. Have just invested in a new "box" and after hassles with my ancient Saitek Joy-stick and High Speed USB Ports am now up and running.

As I suspected I might be, I am blown away with the smoothness of operation and obviously should have upgraded a long time ago. While I really haven't had time to fiddle with things properly, the sight of frame-rates in the high 50's over Real New Zealand Tauranga, is giving me a lot of pleasure. My first two landings were perfect and I could actually predict what was going to happen. I transferred the whole 8 gig's worth over from old box to new and lost nothing.

My gear is reasonably modest and fitted into a budget. I have an AMD Athlon 4200 and A Nvidia GForce 8600 GTS.

Expect to see me back a bit more often
