MSFS and Garmin

Just wondering what nav data base the Garmin avionics use in MSFS? Like other sims is it still hamstrung by the latest Garmin trainer nav data base or does it use the MSFS database?
If the latter, is this able to be updated via a subscription service like Navigraph?

I haven't done it myself but I believe that it's updatable from Navigraph

It definitely isn't tied to the Garmin trainer database - I've seen recently added special use airspace in NZ appear with AIRAC updates.

Well that is a big relief. It was hopeless in P3D (well for online flying anyway).
