Hi everyone, firstly a big thanks to all who joined James' fledgling little airline!
This is an update newsletter to let you know how we are going, and to let you know where we are heading. Both James and myself are particularly motivated to grow this little airline into a big strong one.
We've started off extremely well! We have an excellent selection of aircraft in our fleet now. From a brand new 747-400 down to three Beech 1900s. (Yes unfortunately the 747 is stranded presently in San Francisco, but only as the flynet client crashed on me after 8 hours of flying on route to Auckland!) I'm going to try again to fly it back as soon as the client is repaired. Our routes with it have expanded to include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and London.
Our domestic flights cover most of New Zealand, with a few spots left to add. We have the B737-300 on the main trunk line, and a number of turbo props including ATR72, B190 and Dash 8 in the fleet. Our trans-tasman flights with our two A320s are big money earners, and once the 767-300 is added, we will cover all the major Australian cities.
We have added a couple of boutique flights as well, and are always happy to add more should our pilots have something they wish to fly! We've got the Hawker Siddely 748 from Christchurch to Te Anau added, and Air Chathams Convair to the Chatham Islands as well. Even a helicopter in the Waikato/ BOP region. So, there's something for everyone! If not, write to us, we'll consider your request!
We've signed a partnership deal with Venture Hawaii, one of the larger VAs in the system. On code share flights both airlines make money, so we are working to make sure our route structures are beneficial to each other. One the B763 is added to our fleet we can to open the route to Honolulu, and make the most of this arrangement. Having Venture Hawaii write to us requesting OUR partnership just goes to show how well we are doing, and how much of a potential threat we can be seen to be to other airlines in the system
James is working on a new ad to be placed at the log in screen for pilots. Hopefully this might attract some more members, or at the very least give us a little more exposure amongst the big incumbant airlines.
A webpage is in my work in progress folder, and I hope to have it up and running by this weekend. It will be linked to in our website ads at flynet, and our company profile there. It will detail our fleet, our routes, our virtual company and invite anyone to join. And of course include room for company news and updates.
Unfortunately the latest client from Flynet wipes all value from the aircraft upon successful landing, so they are working on a new patch for it at this time. It would be ideal if pilots could avoid flying for us for a couple of days, until this is repaired. This will save us having to fix the fleet once the problem is fixed. If it's not up and running by Friday 7am, feel free to start your weekend flying as normal and we'll deal with it with the flynet admin.
So for now, thanks for your time, and I encourage anyone to join us at flynet, and join in the fun. Check out our progress here: http://flynet.en-studios.de/index.php?l ... =db&id=653
