Biggest Leap

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Those who go back a generation or 2 of FS might be able to comment on how good FSX is, compared to older leaps between generations.
I go all the way back to FS5 which I played to death, lost interest until FS2002 and ATC, with good-looking aircraft thrown in.
I know many hate the ATC yada yada especially RL pilots but that's what brought me back, I reckon FS2000 - FS2002 was a huge step.

I think fsx is just great! lol in the way of differances between versions here what I think:

The differance between fs95 and fs98 (Iv spent about 5 mounths no stop with fs98 so have some experiance to coment on) is rather minamal with the only major differance being the amounth of airports in defualt scenery was multiplyed by 10. The gap between fs8 and 9 well I didn't even notice one lol kk theres a few improvemnts :P

Then the gap betwwen fs9 and 10 I find isn't actuly that bad, In terms of defualt and if you have a pc to run both at there maxium then fsx has made, in my opinion, quite a good jump. compare fs2002 to FSX, its almost like FS98-FS2002. So I expect fs11 to be far better than 9 lol

I think iv confused my self now..Interesting subject thow....

the biggest jump to me would have had to be fs9 from 2002 as this is where ive seen no end to what you can do and looks to me like the biggest step towards fsx but thats just my look into things from the past to the future :P

I agree as compared to the original Flight simulator back in the 80s you could fly further and there was better detail in the cockpits.
