Good question. It actually
does pay to shop around. With the $US being around the NZ $0.65-67 cents mark, it really is preferable to deal directly with US distributors rather than European (the Euro being approximately 0.53 cents). Unfortunately, the majority of distributors
are European (simMarket, for example) so one just has to bite the bullet.
Of course, the problem with dealing direct with some companies (AeroSoft, Flight 1) is the incredibly burdensome task of reactivating software (should you have the need to). Having said that though, even simMarket can be a pain in the rectum as far as reactivation goes.
