Hi Everyone, Never sure what to post in these things, but here I go..

I'm John, Currently living in Runcorn which is about 12 miles from Liverpool Airport (EGGP), and have been into Flight Simming for over 10 years (fs98), I was introduced to this forum by a few members who linked me a while ago (only just had a chance to sign up though) due to working on a small website (have linked it in my sig if thats allowed)
I'm into Aviation, Photography, Web Design and motorbikes.
I've worked at Liverpool Airport carrying out Maintenance on aircraft such as a Boeing Stearman, SNCAN Stampe sv4c & a Piper Cub aswell as the usual Cessna & Piper light aircraft.

Thanks for reading

Hi John ... a *scouser* eh? I was born in Leeds - t'other side of t'Pennines, so I'm "the enemy" laugh.gif. Is the Runcorn bridge still there? Welcome, in any case! The natives here are friendly!!!

There seem to be a lot of Stearmans (still) in the UK. I went up in one of a fleet down at Rendcomb, Gloucestershire ... but they may be at Brockworth now.

Yep the Runcorn bridge is still there, although still waiting to hear on when the new crossing is going to be built etc... The one that I worked on is G-BRUJ clicky.

And thanks for the welcome biggrin.gif

Hi All.

Dean from PC Aviator Australia in Brisbane.

Been simming for let's see... umm... 18 years?... back in the days of FS3 and FS4...
Who remembers BAO Flight Shop? That really started it all in terms of user/third party add-ons, among a few other scenery design titles... Re-living history!

I enjoy the low and slow style of flying. Give me a Piper Cub over a 737 any day, but I do also enjoy flying some of the larger aircraft. The BAe 146 is a favorite although there is no really decent FSX model (anyone know one?).

Hi Dean! I'm also after a good 146. A friend of mine flies a real one around Europe and would love to have an FSX one as well.

Last I had was some converted FS2004 thing with a default cockpit or other.

Missed this when I joined a few weeks ago. Another Dave, born in Scotland - long time ago. Lived in the U.S. since 1953 - most of my work life as a controller, in Alaska, with the FAA. Owned several aircraft, last was a PA20 which I had for about twenty years. Began simming with FS9 and, like most others, went with FSX for the scenery. Still low and slow and loving it smile.gif .

I could have sworn that I introduced myself when I started posting to NZFF a few years back, but the search engine says I never posted in this topic, so here goes.

Hi everyone, I'm Niels.

I live in the Netherlands, but grew up in Christchurch NZ, and do most of my simulation flying in that general area. I'm 38, married, have 2 kids aged 11 and 8 and I love to fly.

After a lot of long discussions I finally managed to convince my better half that It would be good for my sanity to invest in my hobby, so I'm now the proud owner of a new custom build PC for flying, with an Intel i7 2800 GHz processor, 8Gb of RAM, and an NVidea GTX460 graphics card. Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and FSX, it's a sweet machine. The only thing that could possibly make it any better is a faster hard drive, so i'm keeping an eye on the price of Solid state drives, in the hope of upgrading the disk to a faster one as soon as 64 Gb drives become affordable.

I like flying passenger jets, but since I rarely have the time for the procedures involved I'm currently working on my small plane skills on seat-of-the pants cross country flying. NZ in FSX (especially with the new vector landclass) is damn near perfect for that sort of flying. One day I hope to fly an approach and traffic circuit properly. At the moment I'm still all over the place, though my landings have become a lot better over the years. I'm open to suggestions as to a nice plane for bush flying in NZ (free or payware). The default planes in FSX are ok, but lack realism in some areas. I did immediately fall in love with the FSX ultralight though, which is damn near perfect for very short scenic flights.

I have an enormous respect for all the NZ scenery designers who post here: without you guys my hobby would be a great deal less interesting. Keep up the amazing work! And thanks for many, many hours of flying pleasure.

David Gunson on Soviet ATC: "They have a super system there. When you want to fly from say Moscow to Leningrad, you are give three things: A height, a route and a speed. If you deviate from any of these three things you are joined by two MIG's on each wing and you land at the nearest available airfield. The passengers continue by coach, and the crew are never seen again. ... It's a super system, they don't get repetitive faults...

Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Love the site, one of the best FS forums around in my opinion.

I fly FSX with VLC and most (All?) of Robin Corn's Godzone scenery. I'm not particular about individual aircraft but enjoy flying the DH's and recently bought the Frat Bros A4K, which is a great little trike for blatting around in.

I have been flying IL2 and all it's later mods etc since it was first released, but now seem to spend more time on FSX and downloading great aircraft and scenery from the multitude of great sites on the net.

Catch ya on the roundabout ...

Cheers Esq.

Hi all,

Been simming for quite some years. Former civil servant who's gone back to university but considering doing my CPL afterwards and seeing if I can't get a bush job.

Love the Bear Studios F-7, which I reinstalled FS9 to fly biggrin.gif

Hi Ian, thanks for the welcome mate. Mig21s are certainly my favourite! I'm from Wellington though I just came back about 6 months ago from what I like to call a secondment to Auckland winkyy.gif

No real connection to China but I would consider myself something of a Sinologist.

Cheers!

Hi All
My name is Brad.Im a FSX addict. Ive been dry now for almost 6hrs.(Did I hear clapping and quiet words of encouragement in the background ?).
But seriously,Im 49 and live and work in Whakatane as a Tiler.Came across this site about a year ago after purchasing FSX and discovered that my so called mega gaming PC was brought to its knees. Not one to let a mere box of electronics beat me the search for the Holy Grail began. After reading just about every bit of advice here and elsewhere and trying the various tweaks, installing large amounts of eye candy stuff, I sadly/gladly had to invested in a new PC.
Now I truly am addicted and love it.I fly mostly GA and Light commercial stuff and use VLC, REX, FTX ,GEX ,UTX ,Godzone ,RealNZ ,Carenado, PMDG, Aerosoft, FScene ,JustFlight, OZx to mention just a few.Have got approx 150gig of pay and freeware scenery. I seem to spend more time hunting for addons than flying at the mo,but still flew over 800hrs in the last 12mths.
All this has reawakened the urge to fly real aircraft (will start to go for my PPL this year and maybe CPL etc later) Are there any other simmers in the Whakatane area that would like to meet up sometime (Ya know, people around me just dont understand lol). Chao, Brad.
PS.Shout out to all FSX contributors who have enhanced my existence through their fantastic work.

Yes. A heap of addons and havnt really used them all yet. Been working part time for the last year so had plenty of time. I dont want to know how much Ive spent on this hobby and dont care but I consider it an investment. (words of a true addict lol)

Re. PPL. Probably AeroHire here in Whakatane. Sometime towards the end of the year. CPL, not sure yet, have to decide if Im capable of it first lol. But always open to suggestions.
