It is interesting from some of your comments that I seem to have met a few of you, either at the Ohakea open day or through visits to Woodbourne. Through BIOS and other updates, the system is quite a bit more reliable now. Also, when being used for training, the aircraft doesn't often leave the ground. Shame but more effective for our lessons to work.

I was the SGT in the class when you came through. There were some keen people in there wanting to do more than just follow VOR needles

SGT Pommy? An odd way to describe him. No, I was the guy tinkering in there. Your group got to use the system. The other two groups just had a look but no touching.

haha, when we first met him he said "you can call me pommy" and we couldnt remember his real name after that. i was the one that asked if we could have a golucky i asked because we were the only group to not get a ride with 3SQN

No, Pilots have their own gear to use. The last 10% of accuracy takes 90% of the budget. The system we use covers most of our training needs for communications, Navigation and Instruments.
