A tad damp here.....

It sure chucked it down last night here in Kumeu. Very localised cells.
One of the problems is that there has been so much development here. Most of the storm water drains into the Kumeu river, which discharges into the Kaipara Harbour. Unfortunately it is has one of the shallower gradients in the country and to make it worse the Kaipara was at high tide when the worst hit. Not as bad as Westport but the population is a lot more dense.
Luckily we are in an elevated position. A former house we used to own in Taupaki is not so lucky.
What with lockdowns and shitty weather I'll be happy to be heading off to LA tonight!

Wasn't too bad closer towards Auckland, looks like it might be a mission to get through Kumeu at the moment.

The Rangitopuni came up and cut off our road!
This last happened 20 years ago when some willows fell over in the streambed.

Being in L4 lockdown, it didn't really matter...

Some wag reckoned if he were 20 years younger, and not locked down, he'd be surfing the tailwater!
