FSD P-38 performance issues

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Hi guys,

The P-38 is one of my fav WWII bird. I know it's kind of an "old" model but I recently purchased the FSD one, because of its extra features (like shooting guns, and rockets) and the nice VC. Unfortunately seems like the most important feature of the bird is "not coming through" though. That's performance... and some system simulations...

Just wondering of you guys found any fix for these problems:

1.) It's not capable of climbing more than 1500FPM at 160MPH. It should be doing around 4000FPM at that speed.
2.) Cruise speed is a lot lower than it should be (at all altitudes).
3.) Flaps are not slowing the plane down, hence getting down to the normal 110MPH approach speed is almost impossible (I had to shut down one of the engines for that smile.gif )
4.) Fuel pressure gauge ignores boost pump
5.) Oil pressure and temperature stay low regardless of power settings

Otherwise I love the handling, the VC, the sounds, and the looks, so it'd be nice to fix these. I contacted the developers, didn't get any reply yet.

Do you have any experience with the SkyUnlimited model? If it's good performance-wise I'm happy to buy it...

Any ideas or fixes?

Cheers
Dan
