FS2004 Bloom possibly?

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Have just been browsing the Avsim forums, and stumbled apon this

http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=set...page=show_topic

Says that FS9 can use bloom with a plugin that was coded by a Russian programmer. I want to try it but just a bit weary that it could be dodgy. I might just bite the bullet and give it a go, but if it all goes well and there's no side affects, who needs FSX?

Decided to just go for it and give it a go, no side affects yet. Makes the sim look much better, and no frame hit (at least for me). Just need to start tweaking the settings for it, the default ones are ok, but don't work too well in some parts of the day. I'll get some comparison shots up once I've got it how I like it. Best bit about it so far, is that it can be turned on and off with shift and F12!

Hinch posted some screenies of the bloom plugin, including the one below, over at FSF here.

It looks great, but I can't afford to loose the framerates in my sim...
